DIETHYL BENZOYLMALONATE - Introduction
Benzoyl malonate diethyl ester is an organic compound with the following properties:

-The appearance is a colorless liquid with low volatility;
-Aroma, fruit-like aroma;
-Soluble in general organic solvents, such as alcohols, ethers and petroleum ether;
-The solubility in water is relatively low.
Use:
-As a soluble solvent, it is widely used in industrial fields such as coatings, paints, adhesives and lubricants;
-used as a flavoring agent for spices and beverages;
-In the chemical laboratory, it can be used as an etherification reagent or solvent.
Preparation Method:
Benzoyl malonate diethyl ester can be obtained by reacting benzoyl chloride with ethanol. The specific preparation method is as follows:
1. Under cooling conditions, slowly add benzoyl chloride dropwise to cooled ethanol;
2. After completion of the reaction, the solution was distilled to obtain diethyl benzylmalonate.
